In the first appearance in the city of Koprivnica, Croatia senior national football team defeated Moldova in front of a full crowd and repeated the 2008 outcome from Rijeka, also a UEFA EURO preparation friendly.

Croatia started the matched lively, and Kramarić tried with a header in the third minute, while in the ninth minute he already found the way to score.

Assisted by Perišić, Kramarić was in the centre of the penalty area and shot past his guard and Moldovan goalie Cebanu into the bottom corner.

Shortly after, Vrsaljko tried to chip Cebanu but was held by the woodwork, while Moldova had two corners and two long-range efforts in the first half, including the Ionita strike in 30th minute that tested Subašić.

Pjaca and Perišić did not manage to double the Croatian lead in the first half, and coach Čačić made six substitutions at halftime, introducing Schildenfeld, Antolić, Ćorić, Halilović, Rog, and Čop.

Croatia created even more chances after the break, but lacked only the final touch. Rog took a shot from distance, Čop was beaten once by Cebanu and once by the post, while Halilović and Ćorić also tried to score. N. Kalinić shot wide with two headers.

Into the added time, Ćorić hit the woodwork for the third time, and the final score did not change. In continuation of the UEFA EURO 2016 preparations, Croatia hosts San Marino on 4 June in Rijeka.
