On Wednesday, the fourth Minorities' Football Camp was opened in Poreč, with full support of Croatian Football Federation.

After Daruvar, Vukovar i Slavonski Brod, Poreč was proud to be selected as the host of the fourth edition of the Minorities' Football Camp, organized by Croatian Football Federation and the City of Poreč. In a three-day period, kids will practice at SRC Veli Jože Stadium under the "united by football against violence, racism and discrimination" banner.

The main goal of Minorities' Football Camp project is the integration of sports and tolerance among kids of different nationalities, through football as well as through appropriate workshops.

One of the organizers, Toti Dedić, expressed his gratitude towards the City of Poreč and the County of Istria for their assistance:

"Poreč was always a city full of respect for any religion or nation, and it is no surprise that we have found support for this Camp here. Thanks to Croatian Football Federation, we have a chance to connect children through sports throughout the country, and to show that Croatian sports truly support national minorities. These Camps remind us to respect all people, regardless of nationality, race or religion".

Dedić is fully dedicated to this project, growing in significance with every new edition.

"Football and companionship are my life. I live for equality, and I thank Croatian Football Federation for supporting these events that contribute greatly to development of tolerance and understanding. Upon completing the Poreč event, we shall analyze these four Camps and see what can we improve in the future. I believe that this message - united by football against violence, racism and discrimination - says enough about our goals and desires".

At the opening ceremony, this friendship-making initiative was welcomed by the County of Istria deputy prefect Giuseppina Rajko, while the ceremony was also attended by Poreč deputy mayor Nadia Štifanić Dobrilović and NK Jadran president Ronald Žužić. It was the football club from Poreč that made its facilities available for this Camp, to be concluded on Friday with awards ceremony.
