Šuker thanks FIFA for World Cup organization

"After coming back home and after the fantastic welcome that the citizens of Croatia and the city of Zagreb prepared for the Croatian national team, it is time to take a moment to summarize the overall impressions obtained during the recently completed 2018 FIFA World Cup that was held in Russia. The organization of the Tournament was more than perfect in all aspects: in terms of competition, safety and security, logistics and administrative matters, in terms of football and other related facilities. Everything was functioning and running smoothly, and everyone was offered the best possible support and service. On behalf of our Team, officials, guests and supporters, and on my own behalf, I would like to express our utmost gratitude to you personally and to the all FIFA officials and staff," wrote HNS President Davor Šuker in a letter addressed to FIFA President Gianni Infantino.

"I am sure that this great Tournament will emerge as additional motivation and enthusiasm for future developments and improvements in event management run by FIFA. The success of the Croatian team  is not only the outcome of their talent and skills, but also of our hard and professional work, especially in youth development, which is highly supported by FIFA," said Šuker in a letter to member of the national team's bronze generation and FIFA Deputy Secretary General Zvonimir Boban.

A reply arrived from Zvonimir Boban:

"On behalf of the whole of FIFA and in particular our President, Gianni Infantino, I would like to thank you for your extremely kind words. To receive such praise for what has been rightly described as the best World Cup ever is a point of great satisfaction for all of us and we are truly humbled by this recognition. A personal and special thanks from myself goes to the players who have achieved the most important success in the history of Croatian sport. The homecoming scenes in Zagreb are testament to the immense joy and pride that these players have given to the people of Croatia, and as one of these proud Croatians I express my endless gratitude to this team."
