On Wednesday, tireless Ivica Olić was presented with a Croatian Football Federation award for his 100 international caps.

President of Croatian Football Federation Davor Šuker presented the award to 35-year-old Ivica Olić, who won his 100th international cap last November versus Italy at San Siro.

"To play 10, 20, or 50 internationals is a reason for joy, but to reach a 100 is really special. I wish to Ivica many more goals, a lot of health, and to lead us to France next summer", said Šuker.

Olić himself admitted the thoughts of retiring after the FIFA World Cup in Brazil. "After the talks with coach Kovač, captain Srna, and Josip Šimunić, who all said it is a big thing to reach 100 matches, I stopped thinking about retirement. My will and my desire were never a doubt", explained Olić.

Some moments Ivica Olić will never forget.

"It was Šuker who assisted me for my first goal, against Bosnia and Herzegovina, while the goal I scored against Italy in 2002 launched my career. On the other hand, I was never so sad as when we lost to Turkey in 2008", says HSV striker.

"I have reached my goal and I can play more relaxed. Now, the most important thing is Norway. I am calm, more experienced and better, and I still play for the national team with the same enthusiasm. I will give my all once again", he added.
