Mornar: "Ministry and HNS are natural partners"

Croatian minister of science, education and sports Vedran Mornar addressed the Croatian Football Federation Assembly on Monday, emphasizing the need to maintain quality relations with the football organizations.

"The Ministry and football organizations are natural partners. It may have looked differently during the previous period, but I can promise the change while I'm in charge. We have to work together", he said.

"Problems in sports, therefore in football as well, exist even without us fighting. Recent events, unfortunately, proved that. We have to join forces and strive towards proper support, through compliance with regulations and education", added Mornar.

"Of course, it is not necessary to mention the need for respect of the rule of law and compliance with the financial regulations as well. All that can be achieved if we work together and talk more. I wish HNS a lot of success in the future", he concluded.

Croatian Olympic Committee representative Siniša Krajač also greeted the Assembly, and singled out Davor Šuker's election to UEFA Executive Committee.

"President Šuker deserves special congratulations for this achievement. We are aware what it means to Croatia to have a member in that kind of institution. This is also Europe's recognition of HNS quality work. Therefore, we give our utmost support to that work", said Krajač.

"HNS efforts are not just for the benefit of football, but the entire sports community in Croatia, which makes us grateful", he continued.

"Moreover, HNS deserves credit for defending the independence of sports in Croatia, and is also the leader in the fight against racism and violence. HNS deserved to stay one of the leaders of Croatian sports. We wish you a lot of success, as well as to those who wear the Croatian jersey. Thank you for promoting Croatia", concluded Krajač.
