The final preparations of the Croatian national futsal team for the European Championships in Belgium have begun in Novigrad.

Croatian national futsal team, under the leadership of the head coach Mato Stanković, has begun the final preparations (January 16th - January 24th) for the UEFA Futsal EURO, which starts January 28th in Antwerp, Belgium.

Croatia secured its berth by beating Slovakia in the play-offs, and will play Spain and Czech Republic in the Group D.

After the recent friendlies against Belgium (a win and a draw), Croatia will finally have a full roster, with Dario Marinović and Tihomir Novak joining the squad. During the Novigrad preparations, Croatia will play two closed friendlies with Slovenia - on January 19th in Izola, and a day later in Novigrad.

Coach Stanković has clear objectives: "We will focus on analysis of our opponents, Spain and Czech Republic, and giving the final touch to our appropriate style of play. Against Belgium, we gave a chance to all of our players, and now we have Marinović and Novak for more quality. Against Slovenia we'll try to lower the tensions, avoid injuries and in agreement with Slovenia's head coach, play in order to be optimally prepared for what is waiting the both teams in Belgium".

In Novigrad, Stanković counts on 17 players: Marin Stojkić, Nikola Pavić, Ivan Mladina, Gordan Duvančić, Kristijan Grbeša, Vedran Matošević, Matija Capar, Saša Babić, Jakov Grcić, Franco Jelovčić, Alen Protega, Josip Suton, Franko Bilić, Tihomir Novak, Željko Petrović, Ivo Jukić, Dario Marinović.

14 passengers to Belgium shall be selected among these 17 candidates.
